I’m back at blogging, but it will be mostly discussing what I do during each practice session and that’s that.

Today – scales, scales, scales.  D major, primarily descending so I can practice getting my thumb and hand assembly and “plop it down” naturally where I need it. Dan has said my fingers tend to point too far south when I do thumb position, and this exercise is designed to cure that.

Also focused on broad, sweeping bows to really get over my timidness at moving the bow.  It’s also how I need to move the bow for the minuet.  I can’t insist on the string or put weight on it, since that’s not sporting for Baroque music.
