I had stopped blogging, but that turned out to be a bad idea because I struggled to remember what i had accomplished, and my overall progress slowed significantly. I had started to think about blogging as a drag, since I had to not only practice, but blog the practice as well. It turns out that the extra time is well worth it, since I can take account of what I’d like to work on and make practice more productive.

I hadn’t stopped playing cello, although, I slowed down the blogging. I’m still working on La Cinquantaine, working on being a bit bolder with my bow and keeping my elbows in position for quick changes. I have the tendency to get a bit discouraged when I play, and then my body totally collapses.

At lessons, we have been working a bit on dynamics and how to keep my right hand dynamic and flexible, paying attention to balance.
