We worked on the Beethoven Minuet, and the focus was on my right shoulder. I need to keep my arm light and in control. We worked on an exercise where we extended our arm until there was a full extension, but then we focus on getting the shoulder completely out of the motion.
Largely, it was a review of some technique that had been forgotten over time. This had been my first lesson in a month, and there was a tendency not to have my arm at the correct string level.
Today, I had a focused Skype lesson withEmily Wright at starkravingcello.blogspot.com, but I will blog that separately. She actually did some of the work for me by digesting the lesson! Usually, that’s half my blog right there.
