After a rather adventurous month off in which I was handed several pages of music and optimistically worked through maybe a third of it, cello lessons resume on Tuesday. My thumb is not quite right, but it’s good enough to play on.
Lately, I’ve been working through the Beethoven Minuet from Suzuki Book 3. I’ve figured out where I’m getting the bowing backward, but it’s still like playing a form of Simon Says with my body. I also have the Kummer #53 and #54 bowing exercises to work on. My opening (III)B does not sound quite zingy enough for me.
Another thanks to GottaGoPractice for the slurp exercises. Those kept me off the excuse-a-rama game board.
ps. 7/19: 35 minutes on the Beethoven, scales – G major and C major (3 octave)
