Two very opposing pieces in terms of mood! I worked the first two bars of the third line until I made sure my bowing was right. I was also experimenting with my thumb position. When I play my C major scale, I don’t seem to need my thumb. However, it is marked as such on the score. That doesn’t make it the law, I know. I also worked on my bow distribution so that I have enough bow to hit those four notes ending on the C5.
Then I switched back to the minuet, first phrase. It’s coming along so soon I will be ready to make it sound lighter now that my hands seem to know where to go on their own.
