Tonight’s practice was just for getting the rust off. So much has been out of balance that I needed to right the ship or I would feel guilty every time I sat down to play. I do feel good about what I accomplished at work, but it resulted in too much time away from the cello.
The good news is that the repairs that had been done on my cello in the 80s are still holding up nicely. Some minor cracks had been addressed.
I worked primarily on the Kummer Figure keeping all four notes of equal length. Still sounding buzzier than I’d like. I’m also avoiding the Boccherini for some reason; there’s something going on with this denial, so I need to face it and find out.
