I’m starting Tuesday lessons now, moving off from Wednesdays.  This gives me a short week combined with the World Series.    I’m starting my class pieces again, and I have to memorize them including all the repeats.    I’m actually excited about this, but nervous for the first time.  Even the first passages of the Bach Minuet, need to be approached more rhythmically.

As  a result, I am working through a lot of string crossings as well, especially II(E) to III(C), and of course the ubiquitous I(A) to II(G).   I need to learn to slur these well, which means I’ve got to pay attention to the bow.  And make it flow!

I’m glad it’s hard though.  Otherwise, everybody would be playing it.   The exciting part is not giving up when I most want to.
