Focused on the Minuet #3 (in G, transposed to C)

  • Use your arm, but not the shoulder to get your hand in place for the higher positions. Remember to condense.
  • When moving near 4th position and crossing strings, you might need to open up a teeny bit more than you think.
  • Pause between phrases while practicing. During the pause, think about technique as it integrates with musical shape. This will make the technique be not quite as much effort and it will serve the music.
  • When practicing, think about not losing your connection with the cello. Pretend there’s like an electrical current that you don’t want to disconnect.

On a personal note, I have been having consistent headaches lately. Might need to go for a walk.
