I’m on break between two pieces. The first is Kummer #16, which is a string crossing exercise with lots of backward extensions. It’s in G minor, which I believe is the relative minor to Bb Major. So, this means E and B will need to be flatted, and therefore lots of extending back (or half position, but that would involve too many shifts for this piece). In addition there are a couple of double string crossings.
In a few minutes I will switch to C major, for Kummer #17. Thus, it helps to have a break to clear my mind. I’m going to practice the finale then see what the entire piece seems like together.
