I notice that our lessons follow a pattern of a few left-hand oriented lessons,but the ones I can tell he likes the most are the ones where we pay attention to what our right hand is doing. We focused on the right hand today – doing short notes and trying to have faith that my left hand will follow if my right hand leads. I also feel refreshed by switching emphasis from fingering to focusing on where my right arm is going.

Outside of cello, job issues are pressing hard on me. I worry every day about losing my job, and while I am coming up with some plans for change, I’m not sure I can do it fast enough. But there are reassurances that other jobs can be done within the same company. I feel like I should be working all the time, and that stokes a counter-feeling of rebellion.
