Lesson today was encouraging. We worked on the issues surrounding my cramped bowing hand. Anybody want to take a guess at what the issue was (no fair answering, Dan!)? We worked through making smoother slurs and accomplishing string switches with the minimal change in arm height. Looks like we’re going to continue working on Suzuki #17 since it is in good enough shape that we have a common reference frame to discuss the bowing dynamics in a context to which I can relate.

Finally, on the Kummer: getting better but still some “bow hiccups” on the slurs. We don’t want the individual notes articulated. So, we agreed to try scales slurring two notes at a time.
