This is actually the blog to last night’s entry, which I am posting belatedly.
Studying Suzuki etude with a freer bow. This is emotionally challegning for me, but challenges are what help us go grow. When I make a mistake, you can really hear it, all the way to Delaware. As with other emotional issues that affect my playing, this particular challenge is evident in other areas of my life.
I’m listening to myself play and working on my sensitivity to the strings. My first question is “to what should I be sensitive”. What should I be looking for? And of course the answer comes to me. “Use your ear”.
But here’s the issue. In playing this I can easily see where I can work on this for the entire week non-stop. I also need to keep at Kummer #4 and of course, the scales.
