I was once again “fiddling” while Rome burned. There was a major fire response team right down the road from me. I went to change my contacts and all I could see was multiple color siren lights lighting up the entire neighborhood. I saw multiple engines and multiple ambulances, not to mention the semi-mythical “Fire Marshal”. I felt a little guilty playing, in the remote chance I would need to evacuate. And I realized I’d need to make plans for the cello, vioiln, and viola. Not to mention the people who play them!
I couldn’t really concentrate, although mostly out of respect for others who might be suffering nearby rather than for immediate concern for my own safety.
Assuming I finish my practice, I’ll be on 36 today.
